Welcome and u will soon learn more about cars and its mechanical/electrical designs which you may not have a chance owning Jap cars.

It really take time to get use to the car. The control stalk is totally different from Jap. One of the major different is Diesel and Automatic Manual Gearbox. I think I need a little bit longer to figure out what is the best way of driving it.

I think the Diesel engine should not be any problem in getting used to. I believe is the "Automatic Manual Gearbox"/SAT that requires a bit of time to get used to. I have only tried it in a test-drive, I am not used to it either. However, I have driven many Diesel cars with either Manual or Automatic Gearbox in Europe (many European cars run on Diesel), they are just as responsive as the Petrol version, if not more. Citroën is one of the pioneer in this kind of gear box, hence, I believe your 5008 should have the latest gearbox of this kind.

I thought this kind of gearbox was 1st seen in those Alfa 156 selespeed, BMW SMG-gearbox, Fiat Punto, Opel Zafira, etc...nothing new.

Personally I don't like it, jerky.

Ya, 1st 2 gear is harder to drive, 3 onward is quite powerful. So still trying to experiment, how to move the car in gear 1 and 2 in a smoother and non jerky way.

Yes, the same type of gearbox but they are of later design. Citroën started to use this type of gearbox in their DS in 1950s if I am not wrong... I think this kind of gearbox first appeared in 1930s.

Yes those SMG single clutch type. Very jerky like those Stilo Abarth auto.

Very normal for people not to like it. .
Real jerky.. my wife didn't like it when we 1st collected the car... She prefers torque converter

After few weeks with 5008 diesel EGS gearbox, now i really like it more than the normal auto box.
I just learn the trick of change gear 1 to 2 with less jerky. With 3 gear onward, the power just suddenly come on, which i never experience in my normal petrol car.

I am not sure if it is because of diesel engine or turbo. Anyway I like the feeling.

Trip to Batu Pahat during my Chinese new year holiday, really give me the idea of fuel efficiency of the diesel engine, the fuel meter did not really drop much during my whole journey. Total journey of 300+ km only take less than 15 liter.

Apparently Peugeot has given assurance that diesel across the causeway is 'same for consumption' for diesel makes.

Peugeot apparently removed the diesel particle filter to allow the lower MY diesel to be used.  The rest of the brand has this filter and if MY diesel is used frequently, this filter will get choke and changing it is expensive.

Diesel consumption is very superior comapred to petrol especially for Euro5 & 6 engines.  However, the drawbacks will be the subsequent diesel injector calibration. It is a very specialise job when calibartion machines are expensive.

The Diesel across the causeway is probably not good for the euro 5 or euro 6 engines. As they do not have the super low sulphur Diesel and like Blue850r said, their Diesel will choke your filter quickly.

Yes I pumped MY Diesel but only 20 litres, mix with the balance SG Diesel i think slight more than 30 litres.

I know the MY diesel have higher Sulphur, and long term using it might not be good and likely to choke up the filter. But I am not sure if my 5008 have the filter removed?

If it was removed the, is the the car still comply to Euro 5 standard?
