PostSubject: 308 1.2T PureTech eat6 comment   Wed May 20, 2015 3:21 pm

hi there,
am new here, but have been reading a lot pertaining to peugeot's good and not so good stuffs from this forum. So far, I didn't find any owner comment(s) and/or experience shared with regards to this 308 1.2t eat6.

Am impressed by this brand new 308, and by looking at the tough tests carried out onto this model (mentioned in the peugeot website), theoretically reliability should not be an issue anymore but how come till today it seems like nobody is owing it, puzzle me. confused

it seems to me, after screening and reading through those issues, there is a consistency of common faults which occurs inconsistently, thus in reality, the car's reliability doesn't match the theory preached. so, where is it went wrong in the process.

I like cont. car from the perspective of safety concern and driving stability. fuel consumption nowadays is comparable with jap. cars but the killing point here i believe is the reliability.

Hope to hear some thought from your guys out there, cheers!

This model is justed launched about 2 months back. COE bidding and so forth. Takes a while for new owners to come into this forum.

As you know, when got problems then they come into forum.

When they say 3 years free services, what does it covers and what it doesn't.

Free 3 years service? Did you hear wrongly? Af not so generous company.

We are given 3 free service where free is only labour, parts they whack you. So means not free lah. Warranty is 3 years provided you go for service (whacking) based on their schedule.

and they drive your car like rally car up and down the slop. and its comment that they scratch your bumper and wheels, during your service experience with them.

I just got my new 308 two fays ago.. So far have been impressed with design and drive. FC might be average though not bad..
Now AF have 5 yrs warranty and 3 yrs free labour service. Reliabilty? I work in automotive industry, tell me what happened to Toyota recently? If u like a car bear with the nonsense that it will come when it gets old... Every car have its fair share though have more... BMW breakdown rate is high but people will still want a BMW anytime over a Jap if can afford. My point is if u like it then get it and dont get too overly affected.. Iphone is made in China and look at how people flock to queue for its launch every model?... Just enjoy ur ride...

In respond to augustinwee: actual fuel consumption varies from 13 to 15km per liter driving in Singapore. I expect to get 16-17 km per liter cruising N-S Highway. Any issue so far - Nothing major. Some likes and dislikes. Need key to open fuel cap; I don't like that as an example. Overall - a good ride!

One question to any new 308 users. Ignore to unlock whole car without pressing the unlock button on key? As driver I open the door handle automatically but my passenger will find their doors still lock. The only way is by opening the front passenger door to unlock the whole vehicle. Anyone have answer to this?

Not a bad price, I was quoted 116,900 before the Aug Coe bidding.
Did they gave you any other stuffs like camera or solar film ?

Collected my ink blue 308 1.2T Active in end of Aug. Mine is the lower spec without the sunroof, park assist, blind spot warning, keyless engine start, cruise control, electric brake etc. Free gifts I got are 3M solar film and Garmin GPS with reverse camera.

Have driven it for two weeks, the GB is smooth and engine is perky. FC is around 13km/l, 50% expressway. It should improved after run in. The run in process is a brisk, you rarely need to rev past 2000rpm as the maximum torque 230 Nm come in at a low 1750rpm.

The cabin insulation is good with very minimum wind and engine noise. The small steering feel great once you get used to it. The only complain I have now is that the engine stop/start feature cannot be permanently disabled, I have to disabled it every time I start up the car.
